GMPC Balcony Team
Story Collection Project

Your GMPC Balcony Team invites you to help them collect stories about our church and congregation! Please use the questions below as prompts to share one of your stories about GMPC. You can respond in any way that's most convenient: record your voice, write your story, or speak to a member of the Balcony Team. Tell whatever story you wish, but we encourage you to tell it with gratitude. Every story counts, and we look forward to your response!

  1. Remembering your entire experience at GMPC, when were you most alive, most motivated, and most excited about your involvement? What made it exciting? Who else was involved? What happened? What was your part? Describe how you felt.
  2. What do you value most about our church? What are its best features?
  3. What three wishes do you have for the future of our church?
  4. When did you join this congregation, and what led you to do so? Why have you stayed?
  5. What are the ways in which you have participated? Which ones have you enjoyed the most, and why? The least, and why?
  6. What do you know of this congregation's history (e.g., the events and activities, the people about whom you have heard)?
  7. What is your favorite memory of this congregation?
  8. For what has this congregation stood over the years?
  9. If you were trying to encourage someone to visit our worship, what would you say?
  10. When you think about this congregation fifteen years from now, what comes to mind?

The Balcony Team consists of Amelia Surratt, Anne Price, Boyde Bristow, Linda Williamson, Justin Lockamy, and Jim and Denise Moran. Feel free to contact any of them!
