News & Events @GMPC

GET INVOLVED SPOTLIGHT: Diaper Bank of Sampson County *In an effort to bring awareness to the many mission opportunities here at GMPC we will spotlight one mission every month. We ask that you please give regularly to these programs in need of your help. The Diaper Bank of Sampson County is a local unincorporated nonprofit organization that collects donations of diapers (all brands and sizes, to include adult diapers), diaper wipes and diaper rash cream to assist local families who are in need. Diapers are wrapped in packs of 25 and distributed by the Sampson County Health Department every Wednesday from 12 - 1 pm at the county complex. One pack of diapers is given per child, per month, to those who qualify. *A collection bin is located in the GMPC fellowship hallway throughout the year, and in the Narthex (during July), for your convenience.

Summer Sunday School:
Adults:The Reformation for Armchair Theologians by Glenn S. Sunshine. Since 2017 marks the 500th year of the Protestant Reformation, we thought summer Sunday School would be a wonderful opportunity for GMPC membership to find out what in the world the Protestant Reformation was and what it means to us as Presbyterians today. We definitely stand on the shoulders of the past, but who were these men and women and what were these events that changed the world? We encourage all (regular Sunday School attendees, sometime attendees, anyone interested in the topic, college students, and those who never attend) to meet in the fellowship hall at 9:30 am each Sunday this summer as we explore the Reformation and our faith together.
Youth: 9:45 am; Rotating Variety (Lion, Witch and Wardrobe, Questions of Faith, Faith Stories)
K-2nd & 3rd-5th: 9:45 am; Journey Through the Lord's Prayer

Summer Concert Series: Please make plans to attend GMPC's Summer Concert Series. Each concert will be at 3:00 pm. on Sunday afternoons. GMPC is presenting this series as a way to engage the Clinton community, so please invite your friends and neighbors. July 16th: Christmas in July Organ Recital w/ Ian Parker & Friends. August 13th: The Duplin Dulcimers, folk/mountain music. September 10th: The Clinton Ringers Handbell Concert.

A French Toast Breakfast Fundraiser will be held on Sunday, July 23, 2017 from 8:15 - 9:15 a.m. in the GMPC Fellowship Hall. Breakfast will include french toast, sausage, fresh fruit, milk, juice & coffee. Donations will be applied to the GMPC Building fund. We invite everyone to join us for this time of fellowship.

Princeville, N.C. Mission Trip: St. Paul's Episcopal Church has invited GMPC to partner with them on their summer mission trip, led by Rev. Daniel Cenci, to Princeville, N.C. The trip will be multi-generational (ages 14 and up) and will be from July 30th - August 5th. All of the cost is covered except for meals. A $50-$100 donation from all participants is requested to help cover food cost. You may volunteer for the whole week or for just a few days (days must be specified in advance). The goal is to have at least 10 volunteers each day of the week. If you are interested in serving on the "rebuilding team" for Princeville, to help those devastated by flooding, contact Anne Price.
